Visualizing the Egyptian revolution

Under: Egypt Tags: . .

After an overwhelmingly eventful three weeks in which we Egyptians oust the brutally corrupt regime of Hosni Mubarak, we are left with a plethora of documentation to help us reflect upon the historical achievement. The beauty of collaborative work on such a magnitude of a scale comes from the simple fact that each person can aide the movement in his or her own way.

Personal involvement aside, at planet360 we were just as excited as anyone about this, and thought we could perhaps make a small contribution that can be of use to the newly resurrected Egyptian people. We’ve put together a simple website that crawls all of the tweets from twitter that are hashtagged #jan25, follows the links, and then brings back all of the photos, articles and videos that were shared. The more views on the photos and videos, the bigger the thumbnail, as for articles, the more read it is, the darker/more prominent it appears.

A multimedia aggregator for #jan25 on twitter

This way you can visit the website regularly, and there will always be new content from the revolution, and it’ll be easier to reach the popular items that everyone’s been sharing on twitter.

Go to, and if you like it, spread the word! Hasta la victoria, siempre!
